Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I’m reaching out to share an important update about OpenBiome. Recent changes in the regulatory landscape have led us to make difficult decisions, including downsizing our remarkable team.

This decision was not made lightly, as it impacts some of the most talented and dedicated people I’ve had the privilege to work alongside.

As I reflect on our journey, I’m filled with pride. Together, we’ve pioneered innovations in microbiome science, touched countless lives, and upheld a mission rooted in compassion, equity, and innovation. Every milestone—from supporting over 60,000 patients to advancing clinical research—was made possible by our exceptional team and partners.

This team not only pushed boundaries in microbiome science but also defined what it means to work with purpose and integrity. While their time at OpenBiome may be concluding, their talent, expertise, and passion remain a tremendous asset to the broader biotech community and beyond. I am confident they will continue to make extraordinary contributions wherever their journeys lead.

To our partners: if your organizations are seeking exceptional talent, I cannot recommend these individuals highly enough. They represent the best of what OpenBiome has stood for—equity, innovation, and a steadfast drive to serve patients.

While this moment marks a transition, it does not define the end. OpenBiome remains committed to advancing microbiome science and will continue to do so in the years ahead.
